My sister Caroline Smith is a great organizer. Hearing I wanted to visit Asheville, North Carolina to see the Dale Chihuly art glass show she went to work. Elizabeth Martin (mom) joined me for the drive west toward the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Caroline is a masterful and dedicated cyclist. Anyone who can average better than twenty mph in the Blue Ridge is either a great cyclist or crazy. My sister is the former (mostly :).
Here is our Tiny Chihuly gallery sharing pictures from an Asheville happening – Dale Chihuly at the Biltmore Estate.
After riding hundreds of miles my sister naturally wanted to hike the Biltmore Estate trails. I’ll round up some of the great daylight Chihuly at the Biltmore Estate images she created and add them soon. As my sister returned to the Biltmore mom and I headed back to Chapel Hill and Efland but not before stopping at the Grove Park Inn.
If you love craftsman style architecture then a pilgrimage to the Grove Park in is a must. I wanted to see the F. Scott Fitzgerald room at the Inn. Sadly, you have to rent the room to have the $500 a night F. Scott Fitz experience. Perhaps another time. Perhaps in another life (lol).
